WHAT WE DO
THE WGM Group is a fully integrated poultry company, managing every stage of the value chain from grain importation to ready-to-eat products.
GRAIN SUPPLY & FEED PRODUCTION
Through our jointly owned grain terminal, Consolidated Terminals Limited in Pt. Lisas, we import bulk grain shipments from the USA and South America. These grains are processed at our feed mill, Warnerville Grain Mills Limited (WGM) in Bejucal, where they are combined with micro-ingredients to produce high-quality broiler feeds. The broiler feeds are distributed to broiler farms across the country which are owned and operated by independent farmers, who are contracted to raise broilers for WGM.
EGGS, CHICKS & FARMS
We also import hatching eggs from the USA, which are sent to our hatchery, Farmers Hatchery Limited in O’meara. After 21 days of incubation, the eggs hatch into chicks, which are distributed to the same contracted farms nationwide. Our Team of Veterinary Technicians provide daily farm visits, offering guidance on best practices and supporting flock health through disease prevention and biosecurity.
PROCESSING PLANTS
When broilers reach market weight, they move into two processing streams based in San Rafael, Arima:
Primary Processing: At Fine Choice Meats Limited, chickens are processed under stringent HACCP procedures and sold to supermarkets, restaurants, and other food service customers.
Further Processing: A portion of processed chicken is sold to Heat ‘n Eat Limited, our further processing facility, where products are cooked and packaged for supermarkets and quick-service restaurants.
LIVE CHICKEN MARKET
Some broilers remain on farms for a few extra days to grow to a larger size. These are then sold to pluck shops and mini-processors nationwide.
ASSOCIATED COMPANIES
To support our core poultry operations, we also operate affiliated companies that provide specialized services exclusively to The WGM Group. This includes Law Enforcement Agency Limited, a security company dedicated to safeguarding our facilities and operations. These associated companies help ensure our operations run efficiently.
